Ideas on protecting GPS wiring?

I was hoping you could provide me with some good ideas on protecting/covering my Garmin GPSmap 498 data/power wire connections when not in use. I looked on their website, can't find caps. Leaving them wrapped in a plastic sack when not in use doesn't seem to be a very good long-term solution. Any novel ideas??? Thanks

Are these connectors lying loose or mounted into the bracket that the fish finder mounts too?

Can you incorporate something like this?

Bill, thanks I will look at it to see. They come out from under the console and lay loose on the console behind the mount ready to be plugged in. That box would work if I can figure how to secure it to the console (given shape, space constraints). Thanks again.
