I'm going out on a limb here and asking for advice on where to mount 2 additional speakers in my Skeeter boat.

Pictures should help maybe? Well here they are with some possible placements....take a looksie!!!!

The ones that you see mounted are the 100 watt 5.25" and I have an additional pair of 6.5"
125 watt to mount. This is an upgrade from an old radio that went south, so this new radio, amp, speakers, wired remote.

Any advice and possibly pics of similar would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Re: Ideas on speaker installation

More pictures showing the whole interior would help. I'm an AV freak, from sound systems in my cars as a youth, to building a Theater in my current home. I'm in the same boat:D as you with a new stereo install.

I'm putting 2-8" full range on each side of the boat mounted on the kick panels at teh drivers feet and passengers feet (crossed over for mids and lows only). Also mounting 2-3.5" (mids and highs only)in the bow on the vertical section where the cushions are separated. There's also already 5.25" towards the rear. (mids and highs only). I'll spray paint the grills to the same color as the white fiberglass or red carpet to help conceal them.

I bought a nice 4 channel amp to power 3 pairs of speakers, and probably leave the 5.25s (originally mounted also at the driver and passenger feet) on regular radio power, so if my batteries die I'll still have pedestrian tunes...or at least enough to listen to the Phillies game, or talk radio.

Hope that helps.

Re: Ideas on speaker installation

I just got it, so I have no pictures. Next tim on the water Im' going to take shots and post them hear. I didn't install the system yet, waiting for UPS, and an open weekend. It's not quite boating season here, so there's no immediate rush. It's laid out just like any other 20' bowrider.

Your layout, seats, walls, speaker locations are going to be different, so you'd have to get custom. I have to peal back carpet to see what's behind, and that I can cut circles, then hope there's enough depth for the drivers.

I also get ideas from seeing what the newest boats are coming out with at boat shows or marine dealers. Kinda like walking through a model home.
