I have a 1979 Century, 140. The shift lever is very loose and the push buttons don't work all the time.
1. Can you identify this shift model?
2. The lever is very loose, how do I tighten it up.
3. I believe new button/switches are in order, how much disassembly to replace them?

This will be a Fall repair, as our season is nearing the end here in Ohio. The boat stays in the water till then.
Thanks for any help, Tom

I can't find your exact remote control, but some things on similar controls. Your control my be slightly different, but this should get you in the ball park.

Some of these controls use a set screw to hold the handle on the shaft. Move the handle forward and feel or look for an access cutout opposite from the handle. Try tightening the set screw. Otherwise, use the next method;

If the handle uses screws, follow this and tighten the three screws;
