Identify Motor - Help

I need help identifying an Evinrude motor. I can not locate a model number or serial. The plate where this info should be has been painted over and when I attempted to clean it up I rubbed off the information. The number on the welsh plug is G3521193. Can any one help? I was told that the engine is a 15 hp with a 9.9 cover?? and a 1994 model. The cover has Aug 1993 written on it. Thanks, Kevin

that unit is to old to check you will have to call brp and they can help you...

the welch plugs on the newer engines only have the serial number on them, not the model number, you can call a dealer, ask if they would cross reference for you. i don't know of a public site to find the info.
