Re: Identify this boat?

a better shot of the bow cover, it looks like it may have some detailing in relief in the fiberglass, that might help.

a shot of the stern/transom, it looks like it might have some suttle fins, that'd put it late 50's early 60's

is it actually 13ft, or is it 12' 9" ~ 13' 6"? transom to bow....

you can go thru the library here, you might get lucky & find it

There's been some possibly important details removed by someone at some point. The raised platform & seats aren't the original setup:

the cap/hull relationship, the side 'spear' and the slight fins may help you find it in the FG library:

Good luck

It's not the 14ft Fleetform you posted elsewhere?

Does this one have title? You need to adjust your offered price to account for the lack of motor, windshield, proper seats & trailer. Sub $150, IMHO.

Re: Identify this boat?

Thanks, I'll look through that and try to find it. I'm still looking for a project, the fleetform I ended up passing on. No titles, then the trailer was not road worthy, then he was missing the box of all the trim pieces. Just didn't want to deal with it. Kind of looking at a local Lake n Sea, but the owner wants a bit for it though it runs and has titles. This boat the owner is asking $50, but no title/motor/trailer.

Here's also a bit more of a profile view of it. It does look like small fins.

Yep ^^^ and it has a sort of hood scoop profile in the glass on the bow:

Re: Identify this boat?

Considering pulling the trigger on this, just since it's well cheap and I found a cheap small trailer too. Owner doesn't know what the make is, and never found a HIN anywhere on it. He said his best guess is a Carlson but I don't see any similar models. Measured in at 13'1". I saw a few similar boats on fiberglassics but those mini fins I can't find on anything. Also, there's a hairline fracture on the starboard gelcoat. It doesn't go all the way through though.

Re: Identify this boat?

Read thru some of the fiberglass resto threads.

Although the previous (or current) owner has done some work, unless you can see proof positive pix of the tear down & put back plus see receipts, don't count on the deck being good to go and that w/ a trailer & an OB, you'd be water ready.

In pix, it looks like a decent little project. But up close it may seem more like the seller should PAY YOU to haul it away.

Lots of work fixing a fiberglass boat properly. For $50, it would at least be a great learning experience, but what's the trailer going to cost & what does it need to be ready to haul a boat in & out of the water.

There may be great value in the steering wheel & it's setup as well.

If the seller's asking $50, I'd still offer less. His Admiral may be pressuring him to get it off the property.

Re: Identify this boat?

Current owner bought the boat with a trailer. He just wanted the trailer though.
I'm definitely not expecting to pop an outboard in and take it to the lake. Expecting to dump a lot of time and money beyond $50 into it. I'm assuming I'd have it water ready by the end of next summer, if I'm lucky. I have a 10ft SIB to hold me over if this takes longer though.
Trailer is $150, I wouldn't pay more than $100 though. Worst case I'd buy a friend a case of beer and borrow his flatbed, then wait for a good deal on one.

Re: Identify this boat?

Great, well thought out then :)

Well, I guess all that's left is: When do we grab it? :D

Be aware that boat part shopping (for a windshield or an OB) leads to additional boats scattered about your property. I didn't own a boat (or an OB) before I built the little knock-down plywood canoe~kayak over the summer 2011. I finished it Labor Day weekend. I now own more then 1, several more then 1.

Ok, truthfully, it's more then a half dozen......

Re: Identify this boat?

This week sometime more than likely.
Hah! I actually just sold off my first outboard from the SIB last week. Cleared up some more space in the garage. Not to mention the outboard stand that I could put to use with this...
And thanks for all your replies JB, if you didn't I'd probably have overpaid for a fleetform with a seized outboard and missing all the trim pieces, and probably left on the side of the road after the trailer gave out :)

Re: Identify this boat?

Your welcome. Particularly about that Fleetform ;) They are nice boats (or can be again) but that one wasn't likely to be one...

This 13ft'r, will probably max out at about a 30-35hp. So keep an eye on CL, and any other places an OB might pop up.

A few Sacramento folks joined recently, might start watching for their posts & PM them if they've been digging around in the Sacramento valley for boat & motor parts & pieces....
