My son recently bought the subject motor. Trying to ID the actual model number, but the placard on the mid section is worn out. The ID number on the title is G04034872. Is there any way to determine model number from the ID number? Does it make a difference when ordering parts, not having the actual number? I'm guessing most parts would be the same except for long vs short shaft or jet drive motors.
Thanks in advance.

Bombardier may be able to tell you the model number of that engine from that serial number.

Look on the powerhead for a quarter size core plug... looks like a small freeze out plug... that may have the model and serial number both imprinted upon it.

Thanks Joe, the plug only has the ID number on it. I tried taking pics of the placard, thinking maybe I could bring out the numbers using photoshop. No luck. Funny enough, I can read the words Model and Serial, but the numbers are wiped out.

Yeah... Bummer! The company upgrading from a imprinted metal plate to a decal of sorts whereas the ID could be destroyed simply by wiping with acetone or lacquer thinner to name two substances was really not the greatest idea for anyone to come up with.

How about the bill of sale, receipt, whatever?

I have heard of instances where boaters called Bombardier and they could translate that serial number back to a model number... worth a shot.

Never saw this reply, so sorry for the late response. I had hoped it would be on the title as the seller had no clue what the model number was.

Unfortunately there are likely "E", "N", "S" and "J" versions of your motor,. For example, the 1998 version of your motor comes as:
J150ELEC, J150EXEC, J150NXEC, J150GLEC and J150SLEC

Standard tune up parts are likely the same, but other parts could be different. Best of luck on your search.
