I just bought a nice Johnson 9.9 and for the life of me I cannot find the date of mfg. or other pertinent information using the model no. or ser. no. They are
Model J10 RFRB

Serial G 03618679

Can someone please point me in the right direction. The charts I have been looking at have not made sense enough for a positive identification. I suspect it is about 1980 but cannot be certain. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: identity crisis

If the "F" is actually an "E" then the year is 1994. Anything in the eighties would have a "C."

I don't think the "F" is correct.

Re: identity crisis

You were correct in that the 'F' was an E and it was off stamped where the bottom of the 'E' was cut off making it a perfect 'F'. I was looking at the cowling when I found the original bar code which had pretty much all the info I needed. Thanks for the heads-up.
