IDing a Johnson - extra letter.

I have found an ad on Craigslist for a 4 hp Johnson. I emailed him for the model number, and he sent J4RDHETB. From that, I decided that it was a Johnson, 4hp, rope start, deluxe, 1993, suffix B. But, the H is stumping me. Is the H a type-O, or did I miss something? Thanks.

Well, I went outside and checked my '88 4 deluxe, and it has the H as well. But, the marine engine interpretation sheet doesn't have an H on there. T-daddy gave me a link so I could find what a motor is from its number, but it doesn't say what each letter represents. What is the H for?

thought you new everything. HA!, the H is used in the parts list. there was a simple changing the the manufacturing. and is only necessary when that part is needed. it will be noted only in the parts list. could be as simple as a spring.

Hmmm, on my sheet, the RD is for Rope start Deluxe. DR is for Derated Rope start. I think my sheet is right, as my four has RD, and it is definitely a deluxe. Yeah, I knew the B was the model or suffix run. I don't think the H is for hydraulic steering on a tiller.:D Makes sense being the part change.
Unfortunately, I missed the boat on this motor. A 1993 4 deluxe for 200 bucks ain't a bad deal. The owner had no clue what he had.

I looked at 2 other charts and they agree with you.
