Aloha,

I have a Four Winns Sundowner that is a bit odd.
Original owner bought it in '95 and ran into severe gel coat blistering issues.
He made a settlement with Four Winns where he got a 97 Sundowner hull with his old engine and drive.
Maybe......
The engine is a nice running 351 Windsor Ford with EFI which was sold by Four Winns in 1995 but not 1997.
The drive is a bit of a mystery?

Model 3868441
Serial T0815357
1.95 Ratio
F7 Props

I think it is a DP-SSomething but I would sure appreciate any further info.
I have a shop manual for a DP-SM and it looks like that but I don't think they made the SM in 97.

Hi
You have a 1997 ( NC ) OMC Cobra SX Duo-prop
Its Volvo Penta equivalent was a DP-S
NC is the model year designation
Good Luck Muc

I would pull the drive first and see which style of ujoints you have. I sure wouldn't try to go buy model number for that.

I suspect that VP is a bit loosey goosey with drive ID's and part numbers.
I'm a very careful mechanic/engineer so I'll pull the thing and check stuff before I order.
Nothing like a couple of extra hours of work because the manufacturer hasn't kept track of what goes in what.
I expect his is going to be as much fun (?) as working on an old Harley where they built the bikes out of what they had around at the time.

Thanks again!
