I am still trying to massage the idle on my 1986 150 EXLPTO Mariner. I was reading through my Seloc manual regarding the "type E" carburetors before going out to make the idle adjustments as I have noticed some inconsistencies in the plugs (some look a little wet) so I thought an idle jet adjustment was in order.

In the manual under "Adjustments" it says and I quote: "The high-speed and idle jets are set at the factory and are NOT adjustable".

Should I adjust anyway, or is there a reason I should not touch them?

Re: Idle Adjustment on V-6 150

I see now why, there is no adjustment, it is just a jet, checked them all and they are all clean and clear. Upon reinspection of the plugs, they are all just a little wet, is this the normal condition? The manual states this is often a too rich condition or lack of spark. I have good strong spark, so I am suspect of fuel delivery. The carbs are clean so should I be looking elsewhere?
