idle problem

i have a 93-40hp johnson-j40-tlet. carbs rebuilt last yr. done linc&sync as per omc service manual. starts ,idles fine at dock. put in gear,bogs,acts like it wants to stall. runs great when throttle is advanced all the way to wot. dont have a tach. question 2 has anyone have any advice on the tiny tach? thanks for any or all advice

Your idle needs to be set while you are in the water. There is a screw that acts as a stop on your throttle. Just set it up so it idles a little higher. Haven't read anything bad about the tinytach everyone seems to like them.
