Re: idle rpm 125 force
Clymers says 800-1000 rpm in forward gear. You should also change the mix screws, because they are dependent adjustments.
With the engine warm:
Screw the mixture screw in until it seats lightly.
Back it out one turn.
Start, go forward as slow as possible.
Turn idle adjust screw until it becomes rough from over mixture (out). Turn it in until it miss fires/becomes slow. Meet in the middle.
Adjust idle stop on the starboard side so it is 800-1000 rpm in gear. Move the throttle handle up front around and see the part that rotates attached to the side of the motor (engine off of course). There should be a block on the rotating black bar about mid way with a screw or a screw hole so it can restricted from rotating backward too much. This is the idle set screw. Mine was missing, fell out from vibration.
Just a note, on my carb the screw/seat is damaged somehow and it is actually out 2 turns to begin with instead of 1, and I found this out by following these instructions because it is based on feedback from the motor.
You may also want to adjust the cam/roller and sync the carbs up at this point while you're at it, before you do the idle adjust. With the roller setup on mine, it took quite a while to get the cam to touch the carb roller in the low throttle setting and open up all the way at full forward.
