Looking to turn up the idle as the carbs were rebuilt and the mechanic is a pain to get over too. I read the book and it looks like they say how to adjust the fuel mixture and timing screw????. Isn't there just one screw that will set it up? Motor is 94 carbbed v6 2.5 liter.

I thought those were set at the factory and the idle was controlled by timing and the ECU.

You should be able to idle engine up with the timing pickup screw, But you need to insure that all linkage is correct, this screw may also change the cable adjustment, could be too tight or too loose. The too loose will not bring linkage back to same spot each time, you return throttle to idle. Merc manual check all link/sync steps.
