I love these forums, they have been a tremendous help to me.
I recently purchased a 1998 70hp Johnson and put on my pontoon. The engine starts easily and runs great. My problem is, it idles very high. I have tried adjusting the throttle cable and linkage on the engine, but it is still high. Also, I have noticed that the warm-up lever on the box is hard to push back down. I have had an 88hp Evinrude in the past and I don't recall the lever being like that. What could be my problem? The linkage comes all the way back against the lower adjustment screw. Any help would be appreciated.
