I ran my boat today near low tide w/o a depth finder. The water was real dirty, but i thought i knew the area well enough. anyways, while running near idle, i hear the motor rpms drop suddenly. i cut off the motor, and realized there was only a few inches of water under the prop. I paddled to deeper water then restarted the motor. The motor sounded fine, and i noticed water pumps out of the back steady for 4-5 seconds then stops for a second and repeats 4-5 seconds steady again.
I just had the impellor replaced so i guess this is normal (i've only ran the boat 3-4 times). But when, I started flushing the motor after i got home d after about 2 minutes the rpm's dropped all of sudden like it had before. I cut off, and then started it back and it was fine. I don't think the prop every made contact with the sand (while it was in the water by the way.

What motor do you have? You may have sucked stuff into it and now it is over heating. The tell tail only tells you the pump is working, not whether water is going around the block. You may have to backflush through the thermostats. But, the guys here need to know what motor it is.
