Idles to fast

Hi can anyone tell what pull the timing advance back when you go back to neutral. I can push it back with my finger and it will stay and idle normal but push fwd on the controls it allways go back and idle fast. Post pics of it in both places. Its a 1977 evinrude 85

Adjust the black plastic nut thingy on the throttle cable.----On the motor end of the cable where it is clamped.

agree. standard method is to disconnect the remote cable, and set the idle at the motor. Then reattach the cable to match the motor setting.
