idling and starting issues!

hi there, the engine is a aq290a and has been recentlly serviced and tuned.

since its been only 6hs, and over the 3 weeks it continuslly stalls when maneuvering, docking mainlly where u try to be as gentle as u can. I did adjust the idling screw and gave some extra rpm but aint enough i guess.

And if thats enough, no matter hot or cold to start it will take forever! almost impossible to start it... it wont fire but u can smell gas therefore its getting on the carb.

it could be a timming issue? tomorrow its gonna be checked.. but in order to prepare in advance

Did this start happening after the tuneup and service? or was it doing this before the tuneup and you was hoping the tunup would fix it?

You could have carb issues, water in the fuel, low compression, wrong kind of spark plugs, plug wires defective or crossed just to mention a few items.

before the tune up, it took a lill time to start when cold, then i started right away! So a tune up eventually helped a lot but since this weekend it came a huge deal to start him.
plugs are new, water in fuel might be but havent re fueled since this apeared so its not a main issue i guess, low compression shouldnt be a problem when cold or at both situations? wires havent been changed, should that be adressed? carb issues sounds more like... cause its been stalling aswell

great news! Problem solved, the platinum wasnt spaced enough, it was adjusted and fired up instantlly!

allthough i just called a couple places and could get the original one, so will replace it soon!

Idling was adjusted from the carb and timming was checked.

hope this weekend to test it!

is it worth changing the distributor to an electronic?

It might be de ignition electrode the exact word? Its inside de distributor cap..
