idling issue

91 I/O Mercruiser V6 4.3L <br /><br />When bringing my throttle back to neutral the new throttle cable sits at a high idle and I have pull the cable on the engine back to put it in idle.Not sure why?

You need to adjust the cables threaded barrel to put a SLIGHT amount of preload pressure on the carbs idle speed set screw.
