If the grease fitting is missing on 1 of 4 SuperLube hubs (spindles)....

My dual axle trailer is fitted with four SuperLube hubs (technically, according to SuperLube, they are spindles), with the grease fitting/nipple facing out from the center on 3/4 of the hubs. One has no fitting/nipple. I checked the rear of the hub and there is no fitting/nipple there, too. I know SuperLube hubs can be actually have the fitting in the back of the hub; I saw no evidence of this on the hub/wheel in question.

I guess the grease fitting is broken off (second owner here), so would my only recourse be the replace the whole hub?

Maker: Tie Down Engineering
Hub: SuperLube

(I pulled all the rubber dust caps off and have replaced them with news ones, since old ones were worn)

You should be able to tell if it is broken off - should see the remains, If so then just use an easy out to extract the remains.

I'm not sure I understand your situation. You are missing the grease zerk in the spindle that should be behind the rubber plug? On my stock trailers, 7000lb axles, the Zerk in the spindle is threaded in, you might be able to put a new one in. Worst case you can replace that hub with one that greases from the rear, or as I would do, drill and tap the one you have for a rear zerk.

You are missing the grease zerk in the spindle that should be behind the rubber plug? Yes

It was hard to tell from the PDF doc I downloaded from the company website whether the fitting was simply threaded in. I guess I have to get mucked up and clean the area out, so I can determine whether it's simply gone or broken off. I wasn't sure if it'd be worth the trouble, but it sounds like it's a threaded part. If so, I will hope for it to be just missing, so I can simply replace it. If it snapped off leaving the threads behind, I will drill/tap a new one.

You should be able to find the grease zerks at at hardware store. I haven't seen too many pressed-in zerks for a long time. They do make different sizes though.
