Re: If you want the truth about Ethanol?
I drive a wild bass boat.
It has been known to have parts submerged beneath sea level that normally aren't, like the aft casting deck, and the fuel vent.
My bilge pump pumps out the 10 gallons taken on in the bilge.
My fuel/water and fuel/air separators take care of the 4 oz of water that gets in the fuel tank.
That same 4 0z. used to phase out to quarts, flooding the fuel/water separator and even when that was cleaned out, the remaining fuel was sub/octane and likely to damage my hot rod engine.
I know the carp will burn in my motor, probably without harm, but I'm not willing to promise to keep the fantail above water, and I'm not willing to jump through the hoops to deal with normal "accidental" occurrences on the water. I also know that it's not unusual to get "a little extra" ethanol in the tank. We just had an incident here in the Midwest where a fairly large amount of fuel got out to the street e-10 pumps with over 60% ethanol in it.
And all that isn't even visiting the subject of the real carbon cost of ethanol, or the morality of the diversion of food, etc. ad naseum.
Just my 02. Now you can lock it up.
