Hi, I have a suspect ignition coil. How many ohms should get when i put ohm meter test leads on both terminals?

It is for 28hp 2cyl evinrude. any ideas ? Thank you.

You test the ground wire to the coil laminations, low ohms. Ground wire to high tension tower, high ohms. I don't rember exact figures, test again'st other coil, and see the difference.

The resistance will vary according to whether it is the original coil, a replacement, or an aftermarket. All I can tell you is that it should be several k-ohms on the secondary winding and around an ohm on the primary.

where is the high tension tower? is it a terminal where the spark plug wire mated ?. so far I measurements of both wires I get high and low. seems right.

But I did not measure from ground wire to the output where it mates with spark plug wire yet. Thank you.

Google "test OB motor coil" and you'll find a u-tube video with all the particulars.
