ignition components again conversion

I have been considering some improvements for my 1983 E140trlcte. The first of which is to install the water cooled re/rect from the v6 crossflow. I have heard that it also possible to replace the powerpacks with one combined unit that works for both banks and sits on the exhaust housing. I need part numbers for the changed parts and the corect wiring details for the instillation of the conversion. If any one has experience of this let me know. The reason i wish to do this is the components need replaced and i think that the newer components should be more reliable (?) I might be wrong, any info really would help.

I can think of really no reason to make this change. The above component's give no real problem if properly maintained. Clean connection's with solid ground's. I can think of really no good reason as far as reliability goes.
