1995 Force 120HP. Bogging down at High RPMS. Just about through the fuel system, form tank to Carbs. Now starting to look at Ignition system for problem. Reading the forms I read acouple of forms about bad Stator assemblys. Something about red and black. Can someone give details? Im almost sure from the way my plugs looked that the problem is with the top 2 cyclinders. Tore the top carb off to rebuild it and it looked good. Did not really find anything wrong! Compression on these two were 145,150. Plugs were gued up bad. I devarnished the carbs and engine so I expected them to be bad but the top two were much worse than the bottom 2. Thought it unlikely (could be wrong) top 2 coil packs would go at same time. So I guess I go to this, (seems to be troublesome) stator component, Right? I checked 3 websites to see how much $ and could I get a red one. No luck so far. Can I check the coil packs and stator in my driveway? Can I check them on the water? How? (remember my problem only happens at high rpms after motor warms up a bit, low rpms motor runs good). Anything else (ignition wise) I should be looking at? Dont want to take it back to shop if I can help it! $$$$$$$$ But if it is not ignition, This problem may be beyond me and the forms. Help!

Re: Ignition components

bellybuster : I had a foece 120 1994 and my problem was she ran good at top end but will not idle.I will make a long story short, turn out to be the stator.I replaced the stator from www.seilermarine.com
I sold my manual on the force engine and sold the boat and with the new red stator it still runs great that was 4 years ago.
I don't remember the numbers (ohms)but if you locate the two wires on the high side of the stator and have a ohm meter it will tell you if the stator is bad.
