I have a 5.7lt Alpha 1 1986 Thunderbolt ignition. What plug ignition leads do I need? A mechanic said 84816761Q4, but my old leads have 1Q87 stamped on them. I have looked on the web and there seems to be a lot of different genuine 5.7lt ignition numbers.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject? The distributor has male ends and the plugs are BR6FS.
Thank you :confused::confused::confused:

Re: Ignition leads

You can use automotive plug wires from a parts store.

Ayuh,.... Just don't buy 'em as a set, in my experience, if ya do, they end up too short, with the wrong ends on 'em,...

Automotive wire sets, run over top of the motor, marine sets run 'round back, 'n up-under the manifolds,...
