I was cruising with my 1989 Mariner 60 HP outboard at about 3/4 throttle when suddenly, without my touching any controls, the engine RPMs dropped to what seemed to be near idle speed for a few seconds, and then the motor quit completely. It turns over but will not restart. There were no warning signs of any sort that the motor may have ignition problems. I have determined that I have no spark. Does anyone have any suggestions about what the highest probability problems are that I should test for?

Find your model in here and itl give you places where to check
Technical Support Documents | CDI Electronics

It could be your killswitch or powerpack....or something else

The first thing id try would be disconnecting the kill switch
Try and confirm faulty part via using that link before ordering something you dont need
