Ignition switch problem

I have a 74 merc 650 which apparently<br />blew the ignition switch 2 days ago.<br />The after-market switch I bought has the push to choke function and my control box has the old push button choke on top. Can I use the new switch while leaving the old choke connections?<br />

Yes, by moving the wires you may use it either way,just make sure it's the right ign. battery or alternator powered
