I need to replace the whole unit from switch to plug on a Tracker with 25hp Merc. I know I can buy a universal, but would rather not cut and splice. The question is will this be a Tracker Marine part or a Mercury part?

Re: Ignition switch replacement

I know you said you didn't want a generic or universal name brand but try Sierra Marine. Some of their parts are duplicates of the real thing.

Thanks guys! I don't mind a generic brand, it's the cut-n-splice I don't want. I just want the switch to come with the pigtail and propper plug for my harness. I will def. check out Sierra.

Re: Ignition switch replacement

Do I understand you correctly that you need the entire engine harness from the ignition switch back to the large plug at the engine? If all you need is the switch, that's a matter of tagging the wires, disconnecting them from the existing switch, and installing the new one. The terminals are identified on the switch.

There is a small harness that goes from the switch to the harness under the steering console. It's about a foot long. The backside of my switch is factory sealed so I don't see any terminals or labeling.
