I’m wondering if anyone knows how to set the timing on a merc 402 40hp. #7006816 old bugger ! It’s a last effort to get it running. 2 cylinder 2 stroke

Item number 3.
That will establish the base line timing and you should be able to start and run. You may then make fine adjustments to the trigger position through the throttle linkage if necessary.
