Ignition Timing Question

My question is regarding my 165 hp Mercruiser L6.
My ignition system and fuel system are in a good state of tune.
However, I was curious to know if given today's fuel being 10 % ethanol if I should make an adjustment to my 8 degrees btdc.
I am not seeing quite the top end power I used to get and am hoping an adjustment could help.
I've seen this topic mentioned in some earlier post but would like to get some responses for my situation.

Re: Ignition Timing Question

You should not need to adjust timing to run E10. If fueling was marginal before you may be running slightly lean now. Also, have you added any weight (to the boat) over the last couple of years?

Re: Ignition Timing Question

I have added two trolling motor batteries near the stern with onboard chargers. Do you think that could really have an affect.
