Re: iidle speed air jet

My books show that the 1980 140hp model had idle "fuel" metering jets located in the float chambers just above the high speed jets.

Did the previous owner install different carburetors?

The first mention of an idle "air" bleed jet on a 140hp is in 1983 with all idle air bleed jets (all 4) being the same... part number 323703, with the ID being .036 . The number 36 would be imprinted on the face of all the jets. What number is on yours?

Found the part number from OMC manual, 317474 , hole size is .027. I did find some on Ebay just now, trying to find out if they will ship to Canada, and how much.

The three idle air bleed jets that are in your present carburetors... what size are they?
