It is my opinion that if you have to pay someone more than minimum wage to do a job, then that is what it takes, period. If deporting the illegals causes the cost of producing certain goods to rise, then those goods are indeed worth more. If a head of lettuce costs three dollars because it is harvested by someone who is an American, then the head of lettuce is worth three dollars.<br /><br />Do I say that a guy should be able to raise a famiuly and send all his kids to college harvesting lettuce, or flipping burgers? NO way! <br /><br />Keeping the cost of lettuce down is a lousy excuse for porous borders anyway. We pay through the nose for a lot of other stuff because of the torrent of illegal INVADERS, and it's stupid to continue to do so.<br /><br />I read somewhere that the mayor of Los Angeles plans to give a rebuttal speech to the President's State of the Union Address...in Spanish.<br /><br />You guys who think we have to continue to tolerate the outright invasion of this country by aliens---some of them hostile, to keep our economy afloat need to visit Juarez, Mexico, tour El Paso, and see photographs of what El PAso used to be like when America protected itself from the torrent.<br /><br />Mexicans who wish to become Americans are welcome---in reasonable numbers---as far as I am concerned, but we have been overrun by Mexicans who have no intention of assimilating into American society. They need to go home. They are harming my country.
