ok, i got a good floor. been replaced in 98. it's causein me greif cuttin it as it is still good wood. the red is my rotton stringers. drilled me a few holes to confirm. it's wet and dust. the yellow is dry foam. the blue is where the last creaton frickinized and built inward of the oem engine well. starboard side is intack. port side is cut out. orange is rotton cross members going from one stinger to the other. black is the motor mount board. the start of this hole hosein. it apears to go from stringer to stringer. and has 2 layers. the old and the new.

where should i be cuttin here? should i just get down and cut right on up to the transom, and the insides of the hull. gettin rid of the good foam, and good floor right out to the inside edge of the hull? this boat has spent stringers. i haven't got to the edge yet. are there stringers out there too? or is it just glassed into the edge of the hull?

i'm haveing fun now.......not......how many years. can i keep motivated?

Your post is a little confusing but I’ll try to answer what I think your question is. I think your worried about messing up the pieces that are still in good shape to fix the bad ones. Sometimes you have to ruin it to fix it. If you have bad stringers or cross members you have to get rid of everything in the way to fix them. Piecing a deck together might mean doing more work and using more materials then what it would take to put in one big piece. If you have to piece it together do it over a stringer, or cross member for good support. Be careful if you have cut out to the edge of the deck! Use a grinder and go slow or you may have to figure out how to patch the hole in your haul too. Here it is in a nut shell, cut out whatever has something bad under it no matter how new or good it is, make sure everything is properly sealed when your done fixing it so it don’t happen again, make sure you have good support for the deck when your done. As far as the motivation goes, I’ve been motivated to play with boats 40 years and still haven’t learned my lesson yet ;o) Hope this helps.

i'd cut it all out and start over. it's going to be easier.

thanks guys. that was the answer i was expecting. cut the good floor out to go get the stringers and start over. i don't think i will be able to put anything on the stringers i got. they are rotten. i will (hope to be) be carefull with the grinder. thankyou for the insight.

Like tashasdaddy said.......when you start trying to cut out this and leaveing that and squeeking in this and fudgeing that, you are going to end up with a job that simply looks like crap......My thinking has always been motivated by "Piece of mind"......DO it right my man you will thank yourself I promise !
