The short and simple question. Can I remove just the outdrive and replace the gimbal bearing, or do I need to pull the next piece off (where the bellows attach to)? I started the gimbal bearing replacement last fall and it loosened up easily with a puller, but it doesn't appear that there is a chance of it actually fitting through the bellows, it certainly looks like there is more I need to pull off?
I've watched more youtube videos than I can count, and they all either skip this part or make it look like it should be possible. From what I can tell it definitely was possible on older gen 1's, but maybe not on gen2's? Any tips would be helpful!!
