I'm trying to find out info on this 1950's smaller merc Help

The plate has:

K750 3110 E
1060772
XTV 52259
on it.

Ithought it might be a 1957 or 58 mark 10 but I think it way to small to be a 10 horse and it doesn't look like the pic I've seen of one.

I think you've got the wrong manufacturer. KTV52259 is a K750 7.5hp single cylinder air cooled engine made by the Clinton Manufacturing Company in 1975 and sold to Mongomery Wards, which was then sold at their stores under the name "Sea King". They're closely related to Clinton's chain saw engines.
Clinton has that engine rated as using 50:1. Use TC (chainsaw/weedwacker two-stroke oil) rather than TC-W3 (outboard) oil.

You can be certain if it's air cooled and has cooling fins on the engine. I don't think Mercury ever made an air cooled engine.
