Where's a good place to find parts for older model Mercury engines? I'm needing to replace my impellar and all the gaskets that go along with it on my 1980 115hp Mercury. Would the water pump be specific to this one model year, or are they pretty much the same for most models? Any websites I should look at, or any part numbers here at the IBOATS megamall??? I need this quick so I can get back on the water!!!

Serial Number is 5726549, but it doesn't do me any good at MercuryMarine.com, says it's not a valid serial number.

why would you consider that motor"older" that is one tough beast youve got there, i have a 1977 115hp IL6, i got all my parts from the dealer, includeing carb parts, water punp kits, fuel hose...plugs, ignition.... there are still a LOT of those beasts around so parts are fairly common and easy

mikey, again :p

Try your local NAPA store. They sell aftermarket parts from Sierra. Depending on the local distribution system they have most parts the next day. My local NAPA had a fuel pump kit and a float needle and seat in stock last week for a 1970 135 hp Mercury.

Thanks all. I probably shouldn't consider this an older model engine, because she still runs strong as ever. I never even thought about NAPA, I'll look into that. Thanks again, and happy boating !!!
