impellar installation

Hi I am putting a new impellar in 70 johnson. To it seems to big and the manual says twist it **** wise when clapping down. To make it fit the rubber would be permanetly bent it this the way it's supposed to be. Thanks for your help ;)

Yes, put a small amount of grease on it when you twist it into the housing.

Yes the impellar is "oversized" and each fin must be bent to fit the cup it rides in. Your old one is probaly bent that way and if you examine it closely and attamt to bend the old one back the other way you will see cracks in the rubber. That is why manufacture reccomends you never to reverse the blades.<br /><br />Bob
