Impellar ?

I just picked up an impellar kit for my 2001 merc. 150hp carb. How hard is it to change? And should I change anything else while im doing that? How often should it be changed? I already did the 2 thermostats, inline filter, cleaned and re gapped the plugs. Thanks

water pump should be changed annually its a cheap investment to not cook a motor. change lu oil should do a compession check for reference and a decarb.

not hard to change and buy a manual it will help a lot it will be your best friend

Does anyone have a link on how to change an impellar? I have a 175 Merc that I want to learn how to change. When I do, I will take step by step pics of the process and post them. Where can I get an original Merc manual?

I know how to do a compression test on a car is this the same way? And how do you do a decarb?

The compression test is the same warm up motor pull plugs turnover eaqual amount of times should be within 10% of each other. on decarb buy a can of seafoam spray they have it at napa and advanced auto warm up motor spray into carb throuts shut off remove plugs spray into cyl let sit 2 to 4 hours. start up going to smoke real bad.

I figured it will smoke. Would it be ok to do it in the spring since I removed the batteries and pretty much winterized the motor already except for the decarb?
