Hi
I am running the engine with a garden hose and muffs,
and I can see water coming out (like a waterjet) on the right side off the drive looking frombehind, just in front off the the water intake
Is this the impeller drain hole? I can`t remember seeing that before, or is this ok? or will that cause a cooling problem? It`s an alpha one

What do you have? Serial numbers help. It is just a guess but if it is an alpha it could be the drive drain hole. Those are toward the front of the "bullet" at the bottom of the drive.

No it`s not where you drain the oil, its on the other side and little more back

So what do you have? I was not referring to the lube drain hole. It is the hole on the other side.

Yep, normal. That is how the drive drains the water out. When you winterize it make sure to poke a wire in there to make sure it is not plugged.

Not only is that normal, but essential. If you don't have water running out like that, it means the cavity above it is clogged with crud, and will eventually crack the housing. So, if it's not squirting, get in and clean it out. You'll probably need to split the drive to do it, so, next water pump service, you have an additional job... ;)
