Impeller for Chrysler 3.6

The West Bend air-cooled 3.5 was also sold as a Chrysler in the mid-70's. The Chrysler 3.6 has a water pump that just pushes water up a tube, and dumps it against the lower bearing of the powerhead. But I am having problems finding an impeller. Mine is getting pretty bad.

Can I run without the impeller at all? That's what it seems the 3.5 did. I tried running that way in the tank for a few minutes, and the motor seemed unusually hot to the touch. But then it IS air-cooled.

Norm's Chrysler OB's does not have the correct impeller, but may be able to modify a different part number to work. Any other sources for this old part?

Thanks.

The pump cools the leg it will get very hot without a pump.
Try the Chrysler Crew for help.

Yes, I agree that the leg seems to get quite warm without water. But the identical 3.5 doesn't have any water pump, so maybe the pump is an improvement. Do you have an email address or website for The Chrysler Crew?
