Hi all, I recently had issues with my 1974 4hp Mercury outboard over heating. Did some digging around online, and found stuff for checking the impeller. Sure enough, it was toast, all 6 "blades" were gone. So I ordered a new impeller kit that came with the impeller, a top plate, and an o-ring. But I don't know where the o-ring goes. It's about the same diameter as the top plate, and looks like it might be able to fit between the lower and upper housing plastics, but there is no existing o-ring there. The Seloc manual doesn't show an exploded view of the pump at all, and some of the YouTube videos I watched on it don't mention it either. Could this just be a case of the same kit is available for many motors, and some need this while others don't? I don't want to put parts in that aren't needed. Thanks!
