I just bought a an 16 foot lowe 1610v with a 50 hp force on it. It's been sitting in a garage for the last 10 years collecting dust. I was thinking it might not be a bad idea to replace the impeller but I'm having a hard time locating a kit for this motor. Anyone have any ideas where I'd pick on up at? I've looked here at iboats but it seems they mostly carry the merc parts.

Also if anyone has any other ideas for things I should be looking at let me know. I've drained the lower unit and the oil seemed ok, it was very black but I expected that from sitting for 10+ years.

EDIT: FYI this is a:
1989 Force 50HP
Model: 507L9B

I found one on Ebay for my '84. Just an idea. Find the model # and check
around. A lot of parts interchange between year/models/etc.

Welcome to iboats.

You are going to have to get an impeller from a Mercury dealer for that motor.
Mercury part number F433065-2 about $16

It would be part number 48 in this link:

http://www.dougrussell.com/partscat...,8,18,17,16,19,12,14,20,13,5,22,24,21,23,4,15

You should replace the sparkplugs, clean the carb, maybe replace the fuel pump diaphram.

Am I crazy or is there just one seal that I need to get to replace this impeller? The diagram in the link above just shows a "Drive Shaft Seal - Water pump" part number 50. is there no seal in between the pump housing and the bottom plate?

Just the one seal, if you need it.

But they are cheap so you might as well order it,
