Impeller not pumping

I ran my 15hp Gamefisher last week with no problems, pumped fine, ran it for about an hour.
On Sunday, I started the motor to go fishing and was letting it warm up and noticed it was not puming any water at all.I shut it off right away before it warmed up, no more than about 1 minute or so..
Is it normal for an impeller to go out all of a sudden like this?? I thought they usually go out a little at a time. This one was working fine one day and the next day nothing at all.... Any thoughts on this?? Should I be looking for an obstruction or something blocking the water jacket???????

Im going to pull the lower unit out later this week...thanks ron

when you pull the lower end and if impella lookes ok run some water up tube to see if its plugged

Yeah, I was going to use my aircompressor and squirt gun to make sure it is clean and free of debree. If I need to Ill back flush it.
But man that thing was gone in no time,, guess from sitting for long periods of time in the garage the impeller may have gotten dry and brittle.
