Impeller problem

I had a 78 chrysler 35h motor given 2 me the drive shaft was stripped where it slides n the motor . I found a replacement put it back together with a new impeller . It did not pump water so i took apart and the pin that spinns the impeller was inbedded n the impeller and it put grooves n the impeller back plate . Any suggestions

Buy a new impeller.
I had a 9.6 Sea King and the impeller looked fine but it would not pump. I think it was doing something similar to what your describing. The new impeller cured the problem.
