impeller removal

I went ahead and tried to change the impeller and i cant get the damn thing off, any trick i am missing?

it should just simply lift off. It may just be stuck from age, overheat condition etc. try giving it a little lovin:) pry - wedge -

When they haven't been replaced regularly, they get corroded on. Usually takes 5 or more years.
I've had to cut them off with chisels before.

what part of the chisel do i use?

You will need all parts of the chisel.
Use the long section to hold onto with one hand.
The sharp end will go againt the impeller.
The blunt end will be hit with a hammer using your other hand.

A Dremal tool works, with a cut off blade.
