I have a really good condition 1955? 5.5 h.p Johnson o/b model # cd-12 serial 178598.<br />I have replaced the coils and then noticed it got hot. I assume the impeller is shot and got a new one. Again, I assumed...it would be a relative simple take apart...seems not so..Do I have to remove engine to get access (I already took the 4 bolts at bottom only to realize the shaft is still connected up north somewhere. I'd rather not take it apart any more than necessary. If anyone could give me an idea what I have to do I would certainly appreciate it. I am pretty handy mechanically but have never worked on o/b motors.
