impeller replacement??????

ihave a 1974 mercury 650 with thunderbolt ignition and am replacing the impeller the old one had no fins on it so i was wondering which directiond should the fins be going if u were to be looking down at the shaft. thanks

I just replaced mine last weekend on a 1979 Mariner and when I put it on the shaft, I turned the shaft clock wise to get the housing back on, so if your setup is like that, looking down the shaft on the lower end the fins should be counter clock wise. Hope that helps.
