I have a 9.9 Evinrude that i inhereted with the lower unit apart. My question is does it matter what direction the impeller blades are when I reassemble it? Thanks
Not really as the vanes will flex as soon as the engine cranks over.
However, as a rule of thumb, the correct method is to have the impeller housing upside down in ones left hand, then insert the impeller into that housing with a counter clockwise motion (proper rotation).
