Imperial VC200...boat even worth restoring?

Pretty much EVERYTHING needs to be replaced(even missing motor). Keeping the trailer regardless...but if I see no real point in keeping it boat is going to scrap yard.

I purchased the trailer for 8 hours of labor. We didn't do a bill of sale(this was about 9 years ago and I no longer have contact with him anymore) and the boat was given to me just so he didn't have it on his property anymore. So I will have to climb that legal mountain on getting it registered.

Just a simple yes or no will suffice...I know there are probably some purist here who hate to see boats in the scrap yard. Just been sitting at my parents for 9 years and I am getting it off their property either to scrap yard or my yard

No motor is a big hit. The engine alone would add about 4K to the restoration budget. Moreover, the boat - I assume - has no sentimental value to you. Personally, I would take the outdrive and scrap the hull

strip it down, sell the parts (outdrive, gauges, controls, windshield, etc.) on craigslist or ebay and scrap the hull

worth isn't a yes or no question, IMO

BUT I do agree that unless you want a really big project, this boat saw it's last launch into water many years ago and the 1way trip to the dump won't be nearly the same, but is my suggestion as well.

The boat widows and Admirals support group meets every other Tues or Thurs, my Admiral is acting chairwoman. :grumpy:

They ALL know what's up, no matter what they tell us or what we believe we're keeping from them

LOL I rarely get a no. This time it wasn't a no, but she just asked that I not do the project. The things I get away with...I'm not going to complain one bit. :)

Mine knows how much things are. I called her up a few days ago and was like we need a trailer for the jon boat. Gave her cost and everything. She said okay that's fine. She is the bank though I just deposit part of my check that's all. haha

She's driving one of my females right now. :)

I am with everyone else on this one. My boat has sentimental value so the work and cash are justified in my mind. I have about 6 months of work and over $10K in my project so far. If you don't love her (the boat) leave her quick.
