Got a 2003 ficht. Kind of in a pinch right now and out of the 4 plugs I bought only 2 of them indexed good. The other side wouldn't. How bad is it if I run with them not indexed? I plan on getting more but not right this second.

The electrode burns off and scores the cylinder walls is what I have been told, never seen one that wasn't properly indexed because why would you not?

If you are talking about indexing spark plugs like on 'cars'. Indexing spark plugs will do nothing but cost you time and money. I did this to a 'car motor' several years ago because I heard it would free up a few horsepower. Didn't do anything. I removed the spacers and decided I will never try that again :)

Indexing is required for FICHT and E-tec's of certain years, and even then the plugs may not last long, it was a motor specific issue, some went through plugs rather quickly, others didn't. Short term it may not make difference, long term it may, it had nothing to do with increasing HP.

Have you switched the plugs around to find out if they index in different holes. When i did my friends motor I had to move the plugs around until I found the hole they indexed in.

It is critical that the plugs are indexed properly on ficht motors. If you are in a hurry, just buy double the number of plugs, you should be able to get them to index
by switching around to different cylinders.

I buy 12 just to get 6 good indexed plugs. And YES...it is required on Fichts.

There is a lot to learn about the FICHT. Had one for 4 yrs, it had all the upgrades. Several reMappings of the ECM, indexing of the plugs, new cylinder heads(with the pins), a complete newer style powerhead. All that and the new powerhead scored a cylinder in less than 50 hrs

Now I know :). After watching several youtube videos and reading several articles, You should index the sparkplugs on a Ficht motor. Even if you have to buy a couple extra sets of sparkplugs to get it right :)
