Could an improper prop pitch cause spark plugs to foul? If a motor runs at wide open throttle without reaching max rpm's for extended periods of time (10-20 minutes) could this cause the plug to foul?

I'm still trying to find out why my motor fouls only the bottom plug?

Not if it is just one plug. IMHO.

I think you said it's 1 carb 2 cyl.. and always the lower plug fouling?
If that's the case you could have a leaky fuel pump diaphram ... or cylinder damage.

Thanks for the help guys.

When a couple of guys said to check the fuel pump, I became excited as this would make sense for my problem, but of course I found nothing wrong with it at it will hold a vacuum as long aas I want it too!

I'm about to the end of my rope with this motor.

if your head is leaking ...the plug will foul with water. It will look cleaner than the other, if you take the head off the piston will have strange wash patterns.

I have been going threw the same problems as you have talked about in this post and your other ones. I have the same years (74-76) 9.9/15 hp. Tried all things ie: points-condensers-coils-plugs-carbs-oil ratio. I have been told that the fuel delivery/intake is delivered to the bottom cyl and drawn up to the top one. With this info (right or wrong?)I will be looking into my needle/seat and float again.
